What is a Contract community?

The contract community describes entities that allow one or more collaborators to build open source organizations that offer software products and services such as websites, APIs, smart contracts, packages, frameworks etc. Collaborators push and pull codes to and from the network, performing government functions by creating, approving proposals and receiving compensation from the network. Community contracts can be deployed to a centralized cloud hosting platform if the web app / service or is compiled and loaded on the network as a smart contract to process transactions.

With the understanding that governing community contracts may not be free, the Host Protocol Ellcrys provides mechanisms for cloud providers to implement contractual agreements with community collaboration contracts.
